1. Who we are
We, the team of Lower Saxony Telephone hotline against forced marriages, are women of many different cultural backgrounds. Some of us or our families come from abroad and so we speak many different languages, for example Turkish, Arabic, Kurdish and Persian. But as we work together with translators and interpreters you can also contact us in any other language.
2. How we work
We will support you, we will help you and we will treat your problems confidentially. So please don’t be scared, our conversation with you won’t get into public and you don’t have to tell us your name, either. We know that you know your situation and your family best. Therefore we won’t decide anything without your support.
3. What we offer
We will talk with you about your situation, we will encourage you and we will find out together where your own particular strengths lie. We will help you to take decisions and together we will find a solution for your problem. Furthermore we can give you information about laws and issues relating to the right of residence. We will help you on your way to the authorities and institutions as well as to lawyers, women’s refuges, protection institutions, youth welfare offices, foreigners’ authorities and job centers.
