Hardship Case Commission

For people who have been rejected in the asylum procedure or no longer have a right of residence for Germany for other reasons, we offer confidential perspective advice. We will speak with you and find out whether there are still legal possibilities to get a stay.

For some people, an entry to the Lower Saxony case of investigation presents a perspective in this situation.

This is especially the case if you

  • have lived in Germany for a long time (at least 1 ½ years, but if possible significantly longer)
  • have a Duldung or a Grenzübertrittbescheinigung
  • live and are reported in Lower Saxony
  • have not committed serious crimes
  • no longer have another legal possibility to get a stay for Germany
  • speak as good German as possible, have work or a job offer and have done a lot for your integration in Germany, for example by helping others or engaging in clubs
  • have a lot of good contacts and social relations in Lower Saxony and can prove them (Through comments from friends or neighbors).

If you live in the city or region of Hanover and consider submitting an application to the Hardship Commission, please call us! We can help you determine if hardness input is the right choice and help you or your support to fill in the right forms.

We also provide information on the expiry and consequences of voluntary return or deportation, if there are no longer any prospective perspectives, and a hard-hitting deadline is not possible or successful.

Together with the DRK Aurich e.V. we provide advice and support in the run-up to a hardship application for full-time or voluntary helpers from all over Lower Saxony. This includes the phase during the ongoing procedure and after the conclusion of a case-of-case procedure. We also offer training courses on the subject.

For further information on expert advice and the procedure at the Hardship Commission, please refer to the flyer and materials as well as to the homepage of the Hardship Commission at the Lower Saxony Home Office at www.hfk.niedersachsen.de
